Local dairy cows grazing to make the freshest milk and cream

Hinxden farm has been farming since 1930. Started with 35 acre and 5 cows. Today we have 200 cows and farm 700 acres. We grow grass and maize which goes into making silage. We also grow wheat and barley to accompany our cereal based concentrates. Our cows are loose housed in the winter months and outdoors in the summer.

The Lighthouse bakery are a small bakery overlooking Bodiam Castle, in the beautiful East Sussex countryside.

All our bread is made using traditional methods.  We hand-mould each individual loaf and use long fermentation times to develop the full flavour of the dough.  We do not use any artificial enhancers or chemical improvers.

Locally sourced pasties and pies

Pasties & Pies


Parsonage Farm, Salehurst, has been farmed by the Hoad family since the 1880’s and is now being managed by the 6th generation. It is a typical Wealden farm and is run on traditional lines, with a mix of livestock and crops. It has a pedigree herd of Sussex Cattle and a flock of sheep.
